RDC is a specialised judicial system built specifically to deal with rental disputes and conciliation procedures in Dubai, designed to ensure social and economic stability while supporting the sustainable growth of the emirate

Most people assume rental disputes go to regular Dubai Courts — and that assumption alone causes unnecessary delays. The RDC is a specialised judicial system built specifically to deal with rental disputes and conciliation procedures in Dubai, designed to ensure social and economic stability while supporting the sustainable growth of the emirate. Before the RDC existed, rental disputes went through the regular Dubai Civil Court system where they often took years to resolve. The RDC was created specifically to fast-track these cases. Today, the average dispute resolves in 30 to 60 days, compared to 6 to 18 months in civil court.

The RDC was established under Decree No. 26 of 2013 as the judicial arm of the Dubai Land Department and has exclusive jurisdiction over tenancy disputes between landlords and tenants in the emirate. This means if you have a rental dispute in Dubai, the RDC is the only place to file — not Dubai Courts, not a police station, not a lawyer's office. The RDC handles everything from unpaid rent and eviction notices to security deposit disagreements and illegal rent increases.
